FTransblue franchises make it a priority to incorporate philanthropy into our business values
You don’t have to be a nonprofit to make a positive impact on your community. Even profit-based companies can give back to their communities in a significant way by incorporating philanthropy into their mission to develop a community-focused approach to business operations.
Company culture shapes how employees view the business and its behaviors. So, by promoting philanthropy within an organization’s core mission, it leverages employee knowledge and experience to build a solid reputation and do good in the areas you serve.
At Transblue, philanthropy is an integral component of our business. In fact, we were recognized by Washington’s Philanthropic Corporation’s List as the 3rd largest philanthropic provider among small businesses in our headquartered state of Washington. Secondly, our partner in this effort is mBridge Global, a nonprofit dedicated to providing resources to deserving organizations in need.
This summer, our efforts sponsored Solid Rock Mission in Uganda to host summer camps for thousands of kids and teens to grow in Christ and share in the joys of the Gospel. Solid Rock Mission supported over 1,700 campers in June alone! In addition, we were able to plant 50 fruit trees in two remote villages. The trees helped keep tuition costs down and provide income for children in need. And we also delivered emergency food packages to nearly 100 families in Nepal after devastating floods hit the country in June.
We look to lead by example and encourage other businesses to make philanthropic gestures. Remember, no action is too small, and we are all capable of positively impacting the communities we serve. Here are three ways to get started:
Donate a Portion of Your Profits
For example, an easy way to make the most of a charity partnership is by donating a portion of proceeds from a time period or product. Transblue’s strong focus on serving the local community has led to hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations. Especially to local charities and nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and worldwide.
Offer Donations of Time
While financial contributions are great, your time is just as valuable. Foster a culture of philanthropic focus by establishing a company-wide volunteer day. So, to help plan this volunteer day, ask employees to wear company apparel and post pictures of themselves giving back to the community.
Think Small, Specific and Selective
Follow the three S’s: small, specific, and selective. Small: No action is too small. Stay within your means and scope for your organization. Specific: Be very targeted in the offering or service you have to give. Selective: Ensure your choice aligns with your company culture and values.
